Fundraising - THE RLAWC is excited for the upcoming play we are offering our club members, friends and relatives for 2024!! A Noel Howard’s “Hay Fever” on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm, at Oyster Mill Theater. Tickets are $25.00. About the play:
Novelist David Bliss, retired actress Judith and their two adult children head to the countryside for a relaxing weekend — but instead, they find that each family member has invited a guest, unbeknownst to the others. Thus begins a weekend of over-the-top theatrics, family arguments and romantic escapades that make the four guests realize the Bliss family is more than they bargained for. Written by famed playwright Noël Coward, this rollicking farce confirms that there’s no such thing as a “normal” family.
The play is directed by Lois Heagy.
Social Work & Christmas Projects: Amy Gross, Red Land school social worker, was so appreciative of the Kleenexsupply we gave to them in September. SOOO, for October the wishes to fill the shelves are the following: cleaning supplies: Lysol, Clorox wipes, stuff to clean with, laundry detergent and dryer sheets.
Home Life: The Home Life Committee hosted an interesting program at the meeting on October 17. Pam Maily, our Speaker, introduced us to "COVERED BRIDGES IN OUR SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES." This group organizes tours and they even know where the haunted bridges exist.
Educaton: In 2022, the Club honored Red Land High school seniors by providing two scholarships and three awards to deserving students. Interviews and selection for 2023 scholarships are underway.
At the meeting on the 20th of this February 2023, you will all have the pleasure of meeting our WSSD, Dental Hygienist, Donna Murray. We will all be educated on what she does to help our students have healthy teeth and to help students who need emergency dental care. It is amazing how fortunate our students are. Here are some suggestions of items to bring to the meeting for those attending: small and medium tooth brushes (soft brushes), and floss.
Art Night - March 18, 2024
Mod Podge Coasters and Trivets
______________________________________________
Arts Night was held on Monday, March 18. This year’s Arts Night Program was Mod Podge Coasters and Trivets.
There were 12 club members in attendance. We made 4" x 4" tile coasters and 8" x 8" glass trivets. Some of us used materials, such as scrapbook paper, that the club provided and some of us personalized our creations by bringing personal photos, cut-outs from calendars and even a napkin! A good time was had by all!
On behalf of the Arts committee, thank you for attending Arts Night 2024!
